Rayne Avenger Board Review!
A local racer was selling this for cheap so I decided to buy it and try it out. I just happened to love this board!
Here are the
Specs:
Length- 38"
Width- 10"
Wheel Base- 28.25, 29, 29.25, 30"
In general, this board is amazing for freeride and downhill. The wheelbase options are good because the shortest wheelbase makes the board quite responsive for freeride and the longest wheelbase makes the board stable for downhill. The wheel wells are also really nicely placed. You could definitely run huge wheels with a little riser. I am riding 70mm wheels without risers and it is fine.
One thing about this board is that it tapers quite a bit in the back and people with bigger feet might find this a little bit uncomfortable.
The rayne avenger's concave is super nice. There is a pleasure dome, or W, in the middle of the board which keeps you locked in when tucking. The edges of the board are also really sharp so you can really dig your heels or toes in for slides.
I would definitely recommend this board and will be riding it for quite some time, so if you have any questions, comment on this post and I will answer pretty quickly. Thanks for reading!

Choosing a Tech Sliding Deck
A lot of people believe tech sliding is slowly dying but I see it getting more and more popular! Choosing a tech slide deck is not very difficult and this little article will give you a basic outlook on what decks are available.
Technically, you can tech slide any deck if you slap on some hard wheels like Earthwing Slide A's. Slapping some hard wheels on the supermodel or demonseed would sure be fun but it would be tougher to do all those dizzy spins and such.
Most people prefer tech sliding on double kicked boards so you can do all those manual slides and blunt slides. A lot of street skaters I know just use their worn out popsicle decks for tech slide seshs which works perfectly.
There are a bunch of different sizes of tech sliding decks you can choose depending on your style/needs. Comet's Shred decks come in 32", 35", and 38". Choose the right size depending on your size and what you like. The Rayne Renegade is also a very high quality built board you can use to tech slide with. The Landyachtz 2012 lineup also has a couple tech sliding decks which look nice.
This video will pump you up and make you want to techslide!

A Guide for Writing Sponsorship Requests (DANIEL HAWES)
This guide was created entirely by Daniel Hawes. Check him out and like his page.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dani-Hawes/311759318855636?sk=wall#!/pages/Dani-Hawes/311759318855636
This man is amazing. He sent in a sponsorship request to Rayne and look where he is now!
Also, this guide was written for longboarders but it works for pretty much all sports.
One thing I want to mention is you should get out there, have fun, and get experience. Get out and meet other riders and shred with them. Stay stoked!
~~~~~~~~
Introduction: Things To Consider
So, you have been skating for a while now. Participated in some races, gone to some free rides, met some rad people from your countries scene and you think you want to start taking things to the next level by getting some support from your favourite companies? Here you can find out some info on the best way to go about seeking out potential sponsorship and how best to approach companies.
New 2012 Landyachtz Boards!
Landyachtz's newest boards will hopefully be coming out soon and they sure look sick. Looks like they created some smaller versions of the switchblade and drop carve which look very nice and would suite smaller riders quite nicely. Also I like the look of their new tech boards. The two decks I am most interested in are the new and improved wolfshark and tomahawk. We will just have to wait to see them in action!
New 2012 Landyachtz trucks and stuff! The conventional Bears look really sick. Looks like they will be a good Indy alternative. It would be fun to try out those bushings too.
(Click for bigger picture.)
The new 2012 Landyachtz wheels also look really nice. I am liking the tech sliding wheels and the mini zombie hawgs. The biggie hawgs also look like something to be excited about for any speed demons!
Everything should be released in March 2012 sometime. I really cannot wait!
Kebbek John Barnet Longboard Review!
Here at Vital Media we are going to start doing reviews on gear and other stuff. If you got something you want us to review because you love it so much, please message me! You can find us on a bunch of different sites including Facebook! Please like us on Facebook!
I recently interviewed my buddy Jimmy about his John Barnet board. He has been riding it for a while and has just been shredding everything. Here is what he had to say about the board!
1. Set up?
Paris 180's, stock bushings, bones reds, otang 4prez 83a
2. How is it for freeride/downhill? (Sliding)
Great for freeride. It has micro drops that act as very comfortable pockets to whip around slides. Also, the edge of the pockets kinda act as gas pedals, making it easier to hold out big standies. I haven't really done any dh, but tuck wise, I can fit my back foot right into the back pocket corner which feels really confortable
3. How is the board and kicks for freestyle?
The board's kicks are great. It is big enough to do shuvits, bigspins, manuals, no complys, and whatever you fancy. The board itself is a little heavy but you get used to it very fast once you skate it for a bit. The kicks have a sharp upturn at the end which is good for locking in manuals but a bit weird to get use to
4. Tell us abut the concave/drops, etc.
The micro drop is super comfortable. It locks in both of your feet so well. The board has medium concave and a slight w concave in the middle. I'm rocking vicious griptape which just locks me in even more
5. Favourite thing about the board?
My favourite thing about this board is that it is overall a great all around board. I can have a freeride sesh and freestyle sesh in the same day without switching boards or tweaking my set up too much
There it is! A quick but detailed review of the John Barnet Longboard! I have seen Jimmy ride this board a lot and he busts out shuvits while freeriding down hills. This board is definitely recommended!
Remember, if you want to review something, give me an email!
